Municipal Courts Amnesty Program to End Soon
Officials Urge Individuals to Resolve Court Matters While Cost Savings Still Available

March 14, 2018 -- The City of Houston Municipal Courts’ 2018 Amnesty Program will end 11:59 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018.  Court officials are encouraging anyone who has delinquent court matters to take advantage of this program to resolve their cases at a discounted rate.

“We are offering this cost-savings program to assist individuals in resolving their court matters so they can have the peace of mind to go about their day-to-day affairs without fear of arrest,” stated Director and Presiding Judge, J. Elaine Marshall. “We are available for anyone who has questions or needs assistance; just call us at 3-1-1, visit us online, or come to any of our six court locations,” said Judge Marshall.

The Amnesty Program was initially announced at a news briefing held Monday, February 26, 2018. Most delinquent traffic and non-traffic citations that were delinquent on or before January 1, 2018 are eligible for Amnesty discounts. Previously adjudicated cases, capias pro fine cases, and parking citations are not eligible for Amnesty.
