2026 Fall Community Meetings
We Took Care of Business In Person-Now Let’s Close it Out Virtually!
Join us for HCD’s 2026 (Virtual) Fall Community Meeting—open to all Houston residents and community members.
HCD took the conversation to District K with Mayor Pro Tem and District K Council Member Martha Castex-Tatum and At-Large Position 2 Council Member Willie Davis—and we got down to business!
From intentional conversations and connections with City departments to activities and Q&A, we connected, listened, and heard directly from you. Now, we’re taking the conversation virtual to make sure everyone has a chance to join us.
Let’s close out the year together as we review HCD’s 2025 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), gather your feedback to help inform our work for the coming year, and hear what matters most to Houston communities.

Want to know more?
Each year, HCD receives about $50M in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to improve housing and quality of life for Houstonians. These federal grants include: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Housing Opportunities for Persons with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). To receive these grants, the City must have.
- A five-year strategic plan called the Consolidated Plan that outlines the strategies that the City will take to address identified community needs to improve the lives of low- and moderate-income residents and their neighborhoods. View the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan
