About the Advisor

Scout Odegaard serves as Mayor Whitmire's Senior Advisor for Boards and Commissions. Appointed in January 2024, she advises the mayor on appointments and oversees the process of placing volunteers on the City's 164 active boards.

Her past experience includes serving as the Government Affairs Manager at the Greater Houston Builders Association and internships in the Texas State Senate, the United States Congress, and a Houston-based lobbying firm.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Agricultural Media and Communications from West Texas A&M University and her master's degree in Public Service and Administration from The Bush School at Texas A&M University.

In addition to her professional commitments, Scout is an active volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters Houston.
