Turnaround Houston!
Turnaround Houston is a community-driven program that integrates the features of a job fair with those of a resource center. Its primary aim is to enhance the lives of residents by tackling the job training, educational, and employment challenges faced by individuals who find it difficult to secure work, including the unemployed, underemployed, and formerly incarcerated individuals.
Through the platform of Readiness Fairs, Turnaround Houston effectively links these individuals with potential employers, as well as with agencies and organizations that offer essential services and resources.

The event held in September 2024 at the Hiram Clarke Multi-Service Center was facilitated through a collaboration with the office of Councilwoman Martha Castex-Tatum and Texas Workforce Solutions. Featuring 35 employers, the fair focused on improving the lives of community members by tackling job readiness, educational opportunities, and employment needs. As a result, 73 participants were eventually hired, and an additional 323 were scheduled for follow-up interviews. 29 free haircuts were given courtesy of Franklin Barber and Beauty Institute, while 35 people received help with creating a resume.
