Service Alert  Collection Update

  • Recycling: Due to prioritization of garbage, Monday and Tuesday service days will be collected by end of day Wednesday and Thursday and Friday service days will be collected by end of day Saturday.
  • Heavy Trash - The City of Houston has initiated a citywide effort to remove heavy trash and debris in response to increased participation in the collection program.
Reminder: Please remind residents that we can only collect a maximum of 8 cubic yards/home. Additionally, code enforcement officers will be monitoring neighborhoods that are setting out debris that is over the limit and issuing citations for violations.
  • Yard Waste and Tree Waste: Yard waste and tree waste crews have been diverted to supplement recycling and heavy trash operations. For the remainder of this month, the Department's heavy tree waste and yard waste will be temporarily paused.
In addition, if your hire a contractor to cut down trees, or mow your lawn, all waste created must be hauled away by the contractor, per ordinance. Residents can also use any of the six neighborhood drop-off locations to dispose of their debris.
