Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1114 Gulf Bank Road

February 12, 2025 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a juvenile female at 1114 Gulf Bank Road about 3 a.m. on Tuesday (February 11).

The suspect, Lewis Orlando Tejada, 18, is charged with tampering with physical evidence in the 495th State District Court. A booking photo of Tejada is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 16, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective A. Hernandez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found an unresponsive female with a gunshot wound in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the middle of the street. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Three other males in the vehicle, 20, 18 (Tejada) and 17, were not injured.

Evidence was found nearby, however, the circumstances regarding the shooting were not determined at that time.

Further investigation determined Tejada was responsible for removing the weapon from the vehicle. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Tejada was subsequently charged.

The investigation is continuing.
