Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 101 South Cesar Chavez Boulevard
February 4, 2025 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 101 South Cesar Chavez Boulevard about 3 p.m. on Monday (February 3).
The suspect, Marcus Jack, 48, is charged with murder, assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in the 486th State District Court. A booking photo of Jack is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Althaus and D. Davis reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene determined Jack assaulted a female with whom he had a dating relationship. A male (victim) approached Jack and slapped him. As the victim walked away, Jack pulled out a pistol from his waistband and shot the victim multiple times. Jack then fled the scene on foot and was located by HPD patrol officers in the 6900 block of Harrisburg Boulevard.
The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Jack was charged for his role in the incident. Jack was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
