Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2800 Broadmead Drive
April 7, 2025 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 2800 Broadmead Drive about 3:30 p.m. on April 3.
The suspect, Kline Harris, 37 is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in the 338th State District Court. A booking photo of Harris is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting call at the above address and found a male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics where he was pronounced deceased.
At that time, witnesses stated an unknown black male, who appeared to be in his 20s, shot the victim and then fled on foot.
Further investigation identified Harris as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged. Harris was arrested last Friday (April 4) without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
