August 5, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15400 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday (August 4).  

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer Z. Alikhan reported:  

The male, a pedestrian, was in a moving lane of traffic at the above address when he was struck by a silver Toyota Camry traveling eastbound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

The female driver, 40, and a female passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver, determined not to be impaired, stated she saw the pedestrian run toward her vehicle and jump into the lane in which she was traveling.  

The investigation is continuing.
