April 3, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2900 South Wayside Drive about 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday (April 2).

The identity of the deceased male, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Southeast Patrol Division officers reported:

The male, a bicyclist, was riding northbound in a southbound lane at the above address when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Tahoe making a left hand turn onto South Wayside Drive, leaving a stop sign from Brock Road.

Paramedics were called and transported the male to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The male driver, 61, did not show signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
