September 25, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5 a.m. on Sunday (September 24).  

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Leon reported:   

According to witnesses, the male was crossing the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway when he was struck by a gray Chevrolet Town & Country minivan traveling southbound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased.  

The male driver of the minivan, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released. 

The investigation is continuing.
