September 11, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 960 Kirby Drive about 1:55 a.m. today (September 11).

The identity of the deceased female, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer N. Kumar reported: 

The female was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastbound on Kirby Drive when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the curb.  The Silverado continued eastbound, riding the curb and eventually went across the median into the westbound lanes.  The pickup truck then struck a residential brick barrier at 1000 Kirby Drive and came to a stop.  Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  

No other persons nor vehicles were involved in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.
