October 13, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 300 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:50 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita reported:

The driver of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck was driving southbound on the Gulf Freeway when the male attempted to run across the freeway and was struck by the Ford. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
