October 9, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10100 East Freeway (East Interstate 10) that occurred about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday (October 7).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer N. Kumar reported:

The driver of a Dodge Durango entered the East Freeway main lanes near the above address. While merging onto the freeway, the Dodge struck a pedestrian that was walking on the main lanes of the freeway.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

The driver of the Durango, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released. The investigation is continuing.
