November 6, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5400 West Bellfort Avenue that occurred about 1:50 p.m. on Saturday (November 4).  

The identity of the deceased female, 14, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer J. Baker reported:  

A gray Nissan Rogue was traveling eastbound near the above address and approaching the intersection of Burdine Street.  A silver Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound on West Bellfort and leaving a stop sign, turning left onto the 11300 block of Burdine when it was struck by the Nissan.  The Nissan then left the roadway and struck several trees near the roadway. 

The 14 year old juvenile female passenger in the Nissan was transported to an area hospital by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics, where she was pronounced deceased.  The driver, 17, and four additional juvenile passengers in the Nissan were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the Chevrolet, 70, was also transported to an area hospital.  

No charges have been filed at this time, the investigation is continuing.
