March 31, 2023 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man at 8751 Broadway Street about 4 a.m. today (March 31).

The identity of the victim, 51, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective K. Lovelace reported:

Officers responded to a burglary of a residence call at an apartment at the above address where the victim and a female reside.  The female told officers she was in the bedroom when she heard scuffling in the living room.  She told officers she exited her apartment through the bedroom window and ran to safety. 

Officers found the victim unresponsive on the living room floor.  HFD paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The man's cause of death is pending an autopsy.  There is no suspect description at this time.
