July 31, 2023 - Charges have ben filed against a suspect arrested in a shooting incident at 200 Cody Street about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday (July 29).  

The suspect, Davon Darion Carson, 31, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court.  A booking photo of Carson is attached to this news release.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives Z. Brumley and J. De La Torre reported:  

Two armed male suspects, wearing masks, attempted to break into a residence in the area near the above address.  As the suspects fired shots at the residence, narrowly missing the family inside, the homeowner returned fire and struck one of the suspects in the leg.  The suspects fled the scene.  

One suspect, identified as Carson, was later located at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.  He was arrested, subsequently charged for his role in the incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.  At least two other unidentified suspects remain at large.
