July 3, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 19800 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (July 2).

The identity of the female victim, 57, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer D. Glass reported:

The victim was pulled over onto the shoulder of the eastbound (inbound) lanes of the freeway at the above address and was in the process of changing her tire when she was struck by a vehicle.  The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.  

The wanted vehicle is only described as being white in color and missing a side mirror recovered at the crash scene.
