July 3, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3131 West Bellfort Avenue about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 1).

The suspect, Christopher McDade, 25, is charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of McDade is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. May and C. Sharp reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and located the victim in the parking lot.  He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives confirmed the shooting resulted from a verbal and physical altercation between the suspect (McDade) and the victim.  McDade was taken into custody and subsequently charged in the case.
