December 19, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13400 South Freeway (South Highway 288) service road about 1:20 a.m. last Friday (December 15).

The identity of the deceased woman, 45, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer D. Thompson reported:

A white Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on the service road near the above address. The woman was walking northbound in the roadway when she was struck by the Charger. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital. Doctors pronounced her deceased on Monday (December 18).

The female driver, 26, of the Charger remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired. She was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
