August 25, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 4900 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 1:40 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased female, 38, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer R. Guzman reported:

The driver of a white Honda CRV was traveling eastbound on the 610 North Loop when the vehicle struck a pedestrian on the main lanes of the freeway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The male driver, 49, of the Honda stopped at the scene, was questioned and released. He did not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
