August 24, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 8600 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) that occured about 1:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased person is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Officers responded to a report of a deceased person in the northbound lanes of the freeway at the above address. Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased. The gender of the victim, whose body was dismembered after being struck by multiple vehicles, is not known. No drivers stopped to render aid.
