August 24, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 10800 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 12:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, believed to be 50 to 60 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer D. Hoang reported:

Officers responded to a person down call after an unresponsive male was found on the shoulder of the eastbound (inbound) lanes of the freeway at the above address. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicated the man was struck by a vehicle while walking or running on the freeway. It is believed his body was in a dark stretch of the roadway (shoulder) for some time before he was seen by a passing motorist.
