August 23, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the apparent fatal shooting of a man at 9719 Bertwood Street about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (August 22).

The identity of the deceased male, 54, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Watson reported:

Officers responded to a report of a deceased male at a residence at the above address and found the homeowner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

At this time there is no known suspect(s) or motive.
