August 9, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the death of a child found at 5901 Long Drive about 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 8).

The identity of the deceased male infant, 2-months-old, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Detectives A. Graf and E. Torres II reported:

HPD patrol investigators responded to a meet-the-firefighter call at the above address and learned the infant was left in a vehicle for some time before he was discovered, unresponsive, by family members. Medical assistance was provided to the infant until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported the baby to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
