April 19, 2023 - A man critically injured in a crash at 6900 Bellfort Avenue about 11:45 a.m. on April 13 has died.

The identity of the male, 81, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Southeast Patrol Division Officers and Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose reported:

A preliminary investigation indicated the male was driving a maroon Chevrolet C10 pickup truck westbound near the above address when he attempted to turn when unsafe into the parking lot of a park. At that time, his vehicle was struck by a black Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound on Bellfort Avenue.

The impact caused the Impala to strike a tree. The male driver, 17, and a female passenger, 15, were transported to a hospital.

Paramedics transported the elderly driver of the pickup truck to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where doctors pronounced him deceased on Tuesday (April 18).

The investigation is continuing.
