April 3, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 3000 State Highway 6 about 3:40 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male pedestrian is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer J. Louang-Pho reported:

The driver of a blue Volvo VNL tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on Highway 6 when he saw a pedestrian in the moving lanes of traffic. The driver was unable to stop in time and struck the pedestrian. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

The 18-wheeler driver remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired, and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
