April 3, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5300 Kelley Street about 9:55 a.m. last Tuesday (March 28).

The identity of the female victim, 72, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro reported:

The victim was driving a gold Toyota Avalon southbound on Lockwood Drive when a black Mercedes Benz S-Class traveling eastbound on Kelley Street ran a red light at the intersection. The Mercedes struck the Toyota, which then struck a red Ford Focus that was traveling northbound on Lockwood.

The drivers of the Toyota and Mercedes were both transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. The driver of the Ford was not transported.

On Sunday (April 2), doctors pronounced the driver of the Toyota deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
