September 6, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 2339 South Kirkwood Road about 10:40 p.m. on May 5.

The suspect, Robert Taylor, 34, is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Gregory Scott, 29.  A booking photo of Taylor is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective L. Lange reported:

HPD patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call in a parking lot at the above address and learned the victim, later identified as Mr. Scott, suffered gunshot wounds.  Scott was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

Further investigation identified Taylor as the suspect in this case. HPD Westside Division officers arrested him last Friday (September 2) and he was subsequently charged.
