September 2, 2022 - Houston police have learned a male critically injured in a crash at 12000 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 2:10 a.m. on August 17 has died.  

The identity of the deceased male, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Clark and Officer J. Johnson reported:  

The driver of a 1996 Toyota Tercel was traveling westbound on the service road near the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered to the left and went off the roadway.  The Toyota went into a grassy median and struck a concrete pillar.  Houston Fire department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  Doctors pronounced him deceased on Thursday (Sept. 1).  

The investigation is continuing.
