October 3, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 800 North Wilcrest Drive about 9:45 p.m. last Friday (September 30).

The identity of the deceased male, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer F. Flynn reported:

A male pedestrian was crossing the roadway - not in a crosswalk - near the above address in an area that is not well lit. The male failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling northbound on North Wilcrest Drive. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
