Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 11655 Briar Forest Drive
November 16, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a juvenile male at 11655 Briar Forest Drive about 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 15).
The suspect, Noe Fernandez, 22, is charged with injury to a child in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of Fernandez is attached to this news release.
The victim, 11, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives I. Rios and T. Forsythe reported:
Officers were dispatched to reports of an accidental shooting at the apartment complex at 1919 South Kirkwood Road. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim stated he was shot as he was taking trash to the dumpster in the complex. Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital.
Further investigation determined the shooting occurred in a residence on Briar Forest Drive and that Fernandez discharged his gun inside of the residence, striking the victim. Fernandez was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
