Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5900 Westheimer Road
November 14, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the 5900 block of Westheimer Road 6:45 p.m. on Saturday (November 12).
The identity of the deceased male pedestrian, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and M. Keita reported:
The pedestrian was crossing the road at the above address, not in a crosswalk and failed to yield to traffic. The driver of a red truck of unknown make and model was traveling eastbound at the above address and struck the male. The driver did not stop to render aid.
The pedestrian was thrown onto a gray Nissan Altima and when the driver of the Altima stopped, the male was thrown from the vehicle and struck by a second unknown vehicle. The driver of the unknown vehicle also did not stop to render aid.
Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 41, of the Nissan showed no signs of impairment and was questioned and released.
