March 31, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 2:20 a.m. today (March 31).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer J. Crisler reported:

The victim was driving a gray Toyota Scion southbound on the Gulf Freeway when she failed to maintain a single lane,  lost control of the vehicle and struck the outside wall and then struck the inside wall of the freeway.  The vehicle came to a stop a short distance away.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other persons or vehicles involved in this crash.
