March 17, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man at 8800 Denton Street about 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday (March 16).

The suspect, Arthur Lee Bolar, 81, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court.  A booking photo of Bolar is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. De La Torre and S. Hall reported:

Officers were dispatched to a crash at the above address and learned the victim was struck by a red Ford F-150 pickup truck that then crashed into a concrete ditch.  The driver, Bolar, remained at the scene.  Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Detectives spoke with witnesses and reviewed evidence indicating Bolar intentionally struck the victim with his truck.  Bolar was questioned and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
