June 3, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1300 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) about 8:25 p.m. on Thursday (June 2).

The identity of the deceased male, 68, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:

The male was driving a silver Toyota 4Runner eastbound on the freeway at the above address. He appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed when he exited to the ramp to the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45). The driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and struck the exit ramp's guardrail. Paramedics were called and pronounced the driver deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
