Update on Incident at 5402 Rosslyn

July 21, 2006 -- The identity of a woman whose body was found at 5402 Rosslyn about 6 p.m. on Wednesday (July 19) has been released by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

The female, Lakita Stubblefield, 21, of 2717 Napoleon, suffered multiple stab wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.K. Peters and Officer S. Straughter reported:

Children were playing at the above location while the adult they were with was cleaning the area. One of the children smelled what he or she believed to be a dead animal and then located the body of the victim.

The female suffered several stab wounds to her back, but it is unknown if she was killed at the location where she was found. There are no known suspects in this case at this time.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11043 Fuqua Street

January 31, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 11043 Fuqua Street about 1:55 a.m. today (Jan. 31).

The identity of the male victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Roberson reported:

Two pedestrians were leaving a bar and walking through the parking lot at the above address when they were struck by a black pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed.  The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.  Paramedics pronounced one of the pedestrians deceased and transported the other pedestrian, a female, 27, to a hospital for treatment of abrasions and cuts. 

The wanted driver, described only as a Hispanic male, was possibly intoxicated and, according to witnesses, had caused a disturbance in the parking lot prior to the crash.
