December 15, 2022 - Houston police have learned a woman critically injured in a crash at 9600 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road that occurred about 7:20 p.m. on November 1 has died.

The identity of the female, 69, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Prejean and South Gessner Patrol Division Officers reported:

A white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling southbound through a parking lot at the above address when the female stepped in front of the vehicle and was struck. The driver stopped and attempted to render first aid.

The male driver, 47, did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released at the scene.

The female was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where, on Wednesday (December 14), she was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
