August 29, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 7:20 a.m. on Saturday (August 27).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer E. Rubio reported:

The deceased male, a pedestrian, was lying in the roadway in a U-turn lane from the southbound service of the Gulf Freeway when he was struck by a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released, pending further investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
