August 17, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6410 Windswept Lane about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 14).

The identity of the deceased female, 57, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Midwest Patrol Division officers reported:

The female, a pedestrian, was walking across the street at the above address when she was struck by a Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck leaving a parking lot onto Windswept Lane at the above address. Paramedics transported the female to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased on Tuesday (Aug. 16).

The male driver, 55, was questioned and released. The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way. The investigation is continuing.
