Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 2108 Hampton Road
November 15, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 2108 Hampton Road about 11:30 p.m. on November 3.
The suspect, Tyree L. Hector (b/m, 20), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. A prior booking photo of Hector, who is not in custody at this time, is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Lonnie Day, 41.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the residence at the above address and found Mr. Day unresponsive in a bedroom. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Day deceased.
According to witnesses, Hector became agitated and started pacing inside the residence for unknown reasons. Hector then went into Day's room, shot him multiple times and then fled the location.
