Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6362 Windswept Lane
November 01, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6362 Windswept Lane about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday (October 31).
The suspect, Eduardo Castillo (H/m, 19), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. A booking photo of Castillo is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Dudley and J. Campbell reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
According to witnesses, the victim and Castillo got into a physical fight, during which Castillo pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Castillo then fled the scene in his vehicle, a blue Toyota Corolla, but dropped his wallet as he fled. Witnesses provided information on suspect Castillo to investigators and he was later taken into custody at his residence without incident.
Castillo was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
