Investigation into Shooting at 17505 Tomball Parkway
May 10, 2021 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which a Harris County Sheriff's deputy discharged his duty weapon at an armed suspect at 17505 Tomball parkway (State Highway 249) about 1:25 a.m. on Saturday (May 8).
The deputy was not injured in this incident.
HPD Special Investigations Unit Sergeant J. Hekimian and Detectives N. Arellano, W. Elliott and V. Nguyen reported:
The Harris County Sheriff's deputy was working an extra job at a restaurant at the above address when a customer attempted to leave the premises with alcohol. When the deputy stopped him from doing so, the customer became angry.
The customer left the restaurant and a few minutes later the deputy heard gunshots from the parking lot. The deputy went outside to investigate and saw the muzzle flash and heard additional gunshots. The deputy returned fire and the suspect fled the scene. Neither deputy nor any customers were injured in this incident. It is unknown if the suspect was struck.
As is customary in officer-involved shooting incidents in the Houston city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Special Investigations Unit.
