June 21, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 3930 Reid Street about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday (June 19).  

The victims, Sykia Winters, 23 and Lawrence Gooden, 25, were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective M. Althaus reported:  

Ms. Winters and Mr. Gooden were outside their residence at the above address and having an argument with family members.  The male suspect, known to them, was involved in the argument and left in a vehicle.  The male circled the block, stopped in front of the residence and exited the vehicle.  He then fired one shot and struck Gooden in the pelvis.  The bullet also struck Winters in the leg.  Both victims were transported by private vehicle to the hospital.  

The suspect, described only as a black male in his 30s, fled the scene.
