June 4, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 9601 West Montgomery Road about 1:40 a.m. today.

The victim, Denejea Wells, 24, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Jimenez and Detective C. LaFour reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in an apartment at the above address.  Houston Fire Department personnel and officers arrived on the scene and made entry into the apartment to check the welfare of the occupants inside.  Paramedics then found Ms. Wells deceased with an apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives were provided information on a possible suspect in this case and are following up on leads at this time.
