Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2119 Theta Street
January 7, 2021 - The fatal shooting of a male at 2119 Theta Street about 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday (January 6) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased, 39, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective K. Clark reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address. Upon arrival, they observed the male lying unresponsive in the yard, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced him deceased.
According to the homeowner, he heard a loud noise outside and observed the male breaking into his truck, which contained work equipment. The homeowner told investigators that he went outside in order to stop the theft of his property and fired one shot, fatally striking the male.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident.
