January 6, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile male at 5803 Bellfort Avenue about 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday (January 5).

The victim, 16, was transported to an area hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers J. Kimbrough and M. Combs reported:

The victim stated he was hanging out with four other juvenile males at the park at the above address.  The victim told investigators one of the males, who the victim does not know, pulled out a gun and began flashing it around.  While playing with the gun, the male accidentally discharged it, grazing the victim in the foot.  The victim walked home and told his parents what happened.  He was then transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
