December 28, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 8605 Fulton Street about 10:30 p.m. on December 25.  

The victim, Aquilino Alanis, 61, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and I. Rios reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a convenience store the above address and learned Mr. Alanis was at the store and  as he got into his vehicle he was approached by two young Hispanic males.  The three men got into an altercation and, at some point, Alanis was shot once in the abdomen as he sat in the driver's seat of his truck. The suspects fled the scene southbound on Fulton in a black GMC pickup truck.  Alanis was able to re-enter the store for help.
