October 12 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 9300 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 10:50 a.m. on Friday (October 9).

The identity of the female victim, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:

Officers responded to a report of a carjacking at the above address and, while investigating the robbery incident, they found the victim nearby, inside a nearby vehicle (not the stolen vehicle).  Investigators determined the two incidents were related.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where it was discovered she was pregnant.  Doctors pronounced both her and the unborn child deceased.

The carjacking victim was unharmed and her vehicle was located several miles from the original scene.

The investigation is on-going.
