November 16, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 8700 Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) service road that occurred about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (November 15).

The identity of the male victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer H. Nguyen reported:

The victim was driving a gold Nissan Murano and exited the Gulf Freeway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle at the above address.  The Nissan struck a curb, left the roadway, rolled over and struck a metal sign.  The vehicle then struck a tree and stopped at a chain-link fence.  The male passenger in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
